Cubital tunnel syndrome: A retrospective analysis of surgical management

چکیده
Introduction: Cubital tunnel syndrome (CuTS) is a condition of ulnar nerve dysfunction due to prolonged compression at the elbow often caused by cubitus valgus deformity lateral epicondyle fracture. The main objective this study share our experience and review role surgical decompression anterior transposition (SDAT) in long-term relief symptoms. Materials Methods: Retrieval case records CuTS retrograde analysis data was performed. inclusion criteria were availability relevant clinical information, finding severe conduction (NCS), insignificant MRI cervical spine SDAT. About 100 cases underwent management from 2008 till 2021. Of them, only 54 fulfilled all criteria. Minimum follow up period 18 months after surgery. Results: Among cases, 20 females, 34 males, mean age 31 years. Three most common features paresthesia, motor weakness hand muscle atrophy. Symptomatic achieved 54/54 (100%) complete recovery 34/54 (63%) However, atrophy not observed any. There no complication, recurrence nor there re-surgery any least for Conclusions: SDAT provides without recurrence. Muscle irreversible though other symptoms improve. Therefore, early surgery before appearance advocated.

Learning Objectives: After studying this article, the participant should be able to: 1. Describe the general anatomical features and dynamics of the ulnar nerve, as well as its most common points of potential compression. 2. Describe the clinical presentation associated with secondary cubital tunnel syndrome, with the appropriate differential diagnoses. 3. Discuss the diagnostic test results an...

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and cubital tunnel syndrome (Cub.TS) are the two most common entrapment syndromes. Development of several validated outcome assessments have allowed conducting large scale epidemiological studies worldwide for the last decade regarding CTS, which have been providing reliable basic information. These studies have shown that CTS is more common than had been expected. ...

Ulnar nerve neuropathy at the elbow represents the second most frequent compression neuropathy of the upper extremity. Of the five different anatomical areas responsible for ulnar nerve compression at the elbow region, the epitrochlear-olecranon channel and Osborne’s arcade are the most common. An additional cause of nerve damage is a dynamic process in which the ulnar nerve dislocates anterior...
متن کاملCubital Tunnel Syndrome
The ulnar nerve arises from the medial brachial plexus and innervates the muscles of the forearm and parts of the hand. It also carries sensory neurones supplying the skin of the back of the forearm, the palm and the ring and little fingers. Most damage to the ulnar nerve occurs at the elbow where it passes behind the medial epicondyle and under Osborne's ligament (humeroulnar aponeurotic arcad...
